Daffodil Planting--December 2009
The temperature never went above 35 degrees Saturday, December 11, when members of the Ford's Colony Trailblazers and friends planted 450 daffodil bulbs outside the deer fence at the Ellipse Garden. This completes a 3-year project to create a ring of daffodils outside the deer fence at the Ellipse Garden. The bulbs are planted in groups with each species labeled and represented by at least 50 bulbs. Many of the bulbs installed last year and the year before are up, and should be blooming in January. Sequences of daffodils will follow the spring until early April.
